Colter Boehm and his family arrived in Juneau in 2005, establishing a remote mechanical services outfit. Recognizing the necessity for providing quality service and equipment to the residents of Southeast Alaska and contributing to the community's economic development, Colter embarked on his mission. In 2007, Colter and his father, Jeff, acquired 6 acres in the Lemon Creek area, which became the site for "Bobcat of Juneau." Colter's vision to establish an equipment yard business in Juneau materialized in 2008, when he was just 19 years old; there was no doubt that it had to be a Bobcat facility, given Colter's prior experience working at a Bobcat dealership during his college years. Living a mere hundred miles from the factory where all Bobcats were manufactured in North Dakota, Colter was confident that the Bobcat brand would thrive in Southeast Alaska. At the inception of the company in 2008, they possessed only one mini excavator, a small backhoe, and one skid-steer - that was the extent of their inventory. Jeff, recalling Colter's childhood, remarked on his son's penchant for tinkering with tools on their ranch in North Dakota. Having grown up with the freedom to explore and being part of a close-knit Midwestern family, Colter developed a strong work ethic and the skills necessary to expand the company into Alaska's premier Bobcat dealership. Since the inauguration of the first store, they have expanded operations and established a second location in Ketchikan, Alaska, to better serve the Southeast regions of the state. For over five years, Colter and Jeff have remained committed to delivering top-notch customer service and equipment to the residents of Southeast Alaska, all while staying true to their core values. At Bobcat of Juneau & Bobcat of Ketchikan, they continue to contribute to the growth of the state they proudly call home, aiding their fellow Alaskans in keeping the great state of Alaska thriving.
