In response to a material handling equipment need in St. Louis, MO, recognized over 90 years ago, John J. Connell established Connell Material Handling in 1929, marking the region's first distributorship. His dedication and integrity laid the foundation. In 1973, John passed the company to his son-in-law, Norman P. Turek, who sustained its legacy. After 13 years, Jack Turek took the reins, and in 2009, the 4th generation, John Turek, joined. By 2018, he assumed the role of President. In 2021, after 35 years of ownership, Jack sold the company to John.
